Civil War Newspapers

There were a multitude of Civil War newspapers which printed the stories of the battles from far
off places that were seen through the eyes of the correspondents sent to gather the information.
Often times the information is distorted and the facts are not always the way the battle went.
But many of these writers were in a hurry to get the story back to the newspaper for print.
Below is a copy of how the Georgia Citizen looked on Tuesday, July 28, 1861, at 6AM.  This
will give a look at how the newspapers of the day reported the stories of the day.  This is a good
read of a paper from our state which brought the news to Georgians.
