| "The State Seals of the Confederacy"
Each State in the Confederacy and the Union alike had a seal. These seals spoke of the meaning behind the state. Many of the state seals are detailed and have some interesting motto's. For example the Georgia seal of the time is very similar to the seal we have today. The other states would change seals and make variations on their former seals to carry over to today. These seals were the official seals for the documents signed by the state governments to make their papers legal. Each seal shows us the individuality of the various states. |
