1976
In 1976, I was part of a group who investigated a Creek Indian site in extreme
SE Henry County north of the Island Shoals Rd. and just west of the South River.
The site was in a wilderness area. It was a good walk into the woods to the site.
There were some artifacts found of pottery pieces, arrow points, and tools. There
were also signs of Indian stone covered graves. The site was in good shape and we made two visits to the site in 1976.
