"Magnet, Georgia Indian Site"
1966-1975
This site belonged to the Creek Indians and was in Rockdale County. The location ws east of Hwy 29 along Honeycreek Rd. The property wsa that of family and access was easily obtained. When the fields were plowed arrow points could easily be found. On the property adjoining this land was four stone covered Indian Mounds. Those mounds would later be destroyed by development. The arrowpoints found over the years were made of quartz, and flint. There was one good flint spear point found near the spring on the back of the property. These arrow points had been collected since 1960 by the landowner and there was quite a collection that was kept by the family. Today the property is idle and one day will see the bulldozier as the surrounding properties have seen. |
