Just north of the Big Spring along the ridge above the creek was the burial site
Of the Creek Indians of the McDonough area. There is a subdivision on the
Site today. These very old graves were lost to development before investigators
Had a chance to investigate. Some amateur investigations were done in the early
1970’s where a large number of artifacts were located and documented. These
graves of the Creek’s have been lost. There is a story that an Indian Medicine
Man put a curse on McDonough after the town was developed and the Indians
Knew of the location of their graves.
