| Creek Indian Graves SE of the Peachstone Shoals
Between the Cotton Indian Creek and where it intersects the South River are the graves Of a number of Creek Indians. This site was surveyed years ago and used to lie on the Property of Dr. Foster. There were a few graves on Mr. Wilders property along the Creek . These graves were numbering upwards of 50. They were fully examined in The late 1960’s by the University of Georgia. At one time in the past the property Was owned by Col Zachry of Civil War fame. The reason this area was picked was for Ceremonial purposes. These Indian graves may be hard to find today as much has changed in the area. |
