Creek Indian Burial Site Discovered 1980"
A Creek Indian Burial site was discovered in 1980 just north of Flat Rock Cemetery
Road, which is today's Rustic Rd. The site is at the junction of the Brush Creek
and Big Cotton Indian Creek east of Stockbridge. There are two stone covered
Indian graves at the site. There have been many arrowheads and tools from the Creek
Indians found at this site. There at some point in history was a course change in the
creek and this can be seen in the area. The area today is on private property and access is not available.
