Patrick Henry
1736-1799
This great man was a famous orator and statesman from Virginia. He was a member of the House of Burgesses and spoke against the Stamp Act of 1765. He would make clear and concise speeches about the tyranny of Great Britain upon the colonies. He would be ridiculed by those loyal to the British.
Patrick Henry would give his "Give me Liberty or Give me death" speech which would ignite a fire in the souls of men . Henry County Georgia is named for Patrick Henry.
There are many memorials to this great speaker who had thoughts for the rights of man that would be included in the important writings of his day.
