A former son of Henry County whose parents lived in McDonough in 1969 were Mr. and Mrs. Denman R. Phillips. Their son Dan Phillips, a graduate of Tennessee Technological University of Cookeville, TN worked with the team of engineers that designed the Eagle Lunar Lander at the Marshall Space Flight center at Huntsville, Alabama.
