This cemetery is part of the Mitchell family that is related to Margaret Mitchell the author of Gone With the wind.  GPS coordinates N33 38.276 W084 10.843 784 foot elevation.

Survey date December 1, 2007

Several tombstones with inscriptions' were noted, however most were fieldstones with no inscriptions.  In general the condition of the cemetery is good, however some general cleaning of leaves and debris would make this cemetery stand out better in the neighborhood that it is in.
The CRG and B&M have placed a Civil War Marker to mark the area of the July 29-30, 1864 engagements of General Wheeler, CSA and General Garrard, USA.  We also placed a new marker for William Mitchell a veteran of the War of 1812 whom used to have a marker but it was taken.  These markers will help to inform the people of the area of the  importance of the area once known as Flat Rock and it's inhabitants.
