The Wall of Honor
Standing there to remind you and me,
That "Freedom" is never free;
Harkening to an earlier time,
To today's neverending grind;
We thank those who came before,
Whose sacrifices have given us more;
Etched on that Wall are not just places,
But the defining moments of our yesterday;
Seeing those names on the bricks,
We can visualize their dramatic trips;
To far off lands,
And right here in our backyards;
We thank those with the vision,
To create such a place with a heart felt conviction;
Upon a hill guarding our heritage it stands,
The quiet sentinel created with caring hands.
